A space to innovate
Cream City Labs is a two-floor, 22,500-square-foot innovation space located on our downtown Milwaukee campus. Open to all employees, Cream City Labs is a dedicated space for innovating, experimenting and nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset throughout the organization.
Designed to drive serendipitous connections, Cream City Labs is a destination for cross-functional collaboration and inspiration. With a dedicated event space, it is also a key way to engage with the Milwaukee tech and startup community.

We're helping build the future at Northwestern Mutual, working with employees and teams across the enterprise and financial representatives and staff in the field to build on a strong and stable history and improve what we do and how we do it. By accelerating innovation, bringing outside-in perspectives of emerging tech, and looking at the disruption taking place across industries, we show what is possible. And by training that same outside-in lens on shifts in the broader marketplace, we show what is desirable for our current and future clients.
We collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders, including the startups we invest in through Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, to leverage key learnings for our business. And we provide the methods, talent and financial resources to test and validate ideas before committing greater resources within the company.
